RENOVATIONS & REWIRING

Renovating is the perfect time to sort out the wiring hiding in your walls. Old cabling, too few circuits and unsafe DIY work all get put right while everything's open, saving you cost and disruption later.

DTW works to your build schedule, coordinating with your other trades so the electrical never holds up the job.

The process

RENOVATION ELECTRICAL PROCESS

01

ASSESS WHAT'S THERE

We inspect existing wiring, identify what's compliant, what needs replacing and what can stay. You get an honest picture before committing to a scope.

02

REWIRE AROUND YOUR SCHEDULE

We coordinate with your builder so electrical work fits the build program. Rough-in happens before plasterboard; fit-off happens after paint, clean and efficient.

03

CERTIFY & COMPLETE

All new wiring is tested, a Certificate of Electrical Safety is issued and you've got a home that's wired properly for the next 30 years.

Common questions

RENOVATIONS & REWIRING FAQs

Do I have to rewire the whole house?

Not always, a partial rewire of the worst areas is often enough. We'll assess and give you honest options rather than overselling.

Can you work in with my builder?

Yes. We coordinate rough in and fit off around the build program so the electrical fits the schedule.

Is it cheaper to rewire during a reno?

Much cheaper, the walls are already open, so there's far less patching and mess than doing it later.

Do I need to rewire my whole house for a renovation?

Not always. We assess what's there and recommend only what's necessary. Sometimes it's a partial rewire of the affected area; older homes may benefit from a full rewire.

Can you add more power points during a renovation without opening new walls?

During a reno, walls are often already open, which is the best time to add circuits. We can add as many points as needed while the access is easy and cost-effective.
